GOLDEN Launches Five New Digital Products in Art Materials Market
With the addition of five new products from Golden Artist Colors, Inc., Digital Mixed Media artists no longer have to work within the confines of commercially prepared substrates to create their artwork. Now artists will be able to turn just about any relatively flat surface into a printable surface, achieving clear, crisp images on acrylic skins, metal foils, specialty papers and more. The five new products that, along with existing products, work together as a system include Digital Ground White (Matte), Digital Ground Clear (Gloss), Digital Ground Clear for Non-Porous Surfaces, Gel Topcoat w/UVLS (Gloss), and Gel Topcoat w/UVLS (Semi-Gloss).
"We've been engaged in conversations with artists about digital artwork for quite some time now," said Product Manager, Dana Rice. "Through those daily conversations, we've learned about the increasing trend toward the creation of digital artwork - either the entire piece of artwork is digital or digital elements act as a component of the artwork. That's what makes this launch so exciting. We listened to their needs and as a result, have produced products that will allow them to create artwork in an entirely new way."
Recognizing the tremendous growth of Digital Media in the fine art world and professional artists' desire to bring something cutting-edge and unique to their artwork, GOLDEN is confident that the addition of these new products will bring excitement to artists working in all types of media. Introducing these Digital Grounds and Topcoats will inspire experimentation, innovative applications and unique possibilities for artists already familiar with what Digital Media can do for their work and spark interest from artists just starting to explore these types of applications.
Digital Ground White (Matte) is an opaque, white ground that works well on a variety of surfaces, offering a bright white gesso-like ground.
Digital Ground Clear (Gloss) is a clear ground for use on most absorbent surfaces, allowing the substrate to show through the ground.
Digital Ground for Non-Porous Surfaces is a clear ground that offers improved adhesion on non-porous materials, such as aluminum or acrylic panels.
Gel Topcoat w/UVLS, available in both Gloss and Semi-Gloss sheens, is a non-removable post-coat offering ultra violet light filters and stabilizers for protection against fading.
The Digital Mixed Media products will be available in four sizes: 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., and 128 oz. Artists can visit the Mix More Media section of our site for additional information about these new products. It contains printing tips, application sheets and additional resources for reference. Artists can expect to find these new products in local retail stores starting March 2008.
