Golden Artist Colors

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who invented acrylic paint, and when was that?

Answer:

We did, kind of. Back in the 1940s, Sam Golden, one of our co-founders, learned to make paint with his uncle Leonard Bocour. And the rest is history!

Q: How do you come up with paint names?

Answer:

We try to follow a pigment-first naming convention.

Q: Where do I buy your products?

Answer:

We have a large network of retailers and online retailers are also an option.

Q: Can you give me free paint or pastel colors?

Answer:

That depends on whether we have any samples available at the moment.

Q: How long does it take for acrylic paint to dry? Watching paint dry is our jam so we’re really into this question.

Answer:

The short answer is: “It depends on your studio conditions.” If you live in a hot, dry location it can dry in moments. Fortunately, we make a slow-drying paint line as well as products to extend your working time
