Golden Artist Colors Expands in Chenango County

June 05, 2013

Golden Artist Colors, Inc. announced today the acquisition of the former Apple Converting manufacturing building located at 65 Hale Street in Norwich, N.Y. The 45,000 square foot commercial building will significantly increase the company's warehousing and distribution capacity. It will also free up additional manufacturing floor space within the company's current facility in Columbus, N.Y.

The project was coordinated with significant assistance from Commerce Chenango, which helped the company secure financing support from the County and State as well as from NBT Bank. "The purchase of this facility would not have been possible without the support and guidance from several local business partners and funding secured from a Community Development Block Grant, which was submitted by Chenango County," commented Barbara J. Schindler, President and COO of Golden Artist Colors. "Both Donna M. Jones, Director of Planning with Chenango County Planning & Development and Jennifer Tavares, Director of Economic Development at Commerce Chenango guided us through the entire process and were instrumental in helping us to finalize the purchase of this space."

"Also invaluable in the acquisition were David Theleman, Senior Vice President and Regional Commercial Banking Manager at NBT Bank and Jennifer Telesky, Assistant Vice President and Commercial Banking Relationship Manager at NBT Bank," said Schindler. "We have worked closely with NBT Bank throughout the years and each time, their commitment and dedication in supporting our business growth has been incredible. We are truly grateful."

"We are excited that the new facility will help support the growing demand for our products throughout the global marketplace," said GOLDEN CFO, James E. Henderson. "The Norwich facility, which represents the company's first expansion off the original company property, provides an additional business platform for expanded growth and the achievement of our long term strategic goals."

GOLDEN hopes to have staff working in the new facility beginning fall 2013.
