'Monumental Works' is an exhibition of paintings by Friedel Dzubas from the mid 70's to the early 80's. This show features several large-scale paintings nearly 10 feet tall and over 20 feet wide. According to Gallery Director, James Walsh, "These works represent an important benchmark of Dzubas's achievement in terms of his grappling with the physical limitations of a 'portable' painting, a painting that can be disassembled and rebuilt for exhibitions."

On the eve of what would be his 100th birthday in 2015, The SAGG is delighted to begin the celebration and revisit the important work of this artist.  Mark Golden, CEO of Golden Artist Colors shares, "It will be clear to anyone visiting the show, the incredible power that these paintings project.  I am confident that this exhibition will ignite renewed interest in this brilliant artist."  Dzubas spent some time in Upstate NY, including several years as a visiting artist in Ithaca, at Cornell and also made regular visits to Norwich in Chenango County.
