Senator David J. Valesky Tours Golden Artist Colors

December 15, 2011

Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) recently visited Golden Artist Colors and met with company leaders to discuss challenges affecting manufacturers in Upstate New York as well as the many benefits manufacturing provides local communities.

"We are all well aware that our state's business community is enduring difficult times," said GOLDEN CEO, Mark Golden. "We were pleased to have the opportunity to sit down with Senator Valesky and share several initiatives that we've pursued to become a sustainable and valuable corporate citizen in New York State."

"Golden Artist Colors is one of the many great small, family-owned businesses in New York State," said Senator David Valesky. "It was great to see first-hand how a manufacturer is working to become a global leader in their market while maintaining a connection to the local community."

During the visit, Senator Valesky took a tour of the GOLDEN facility as well as the new Sam &  Adele Golden Artist Residence space. In 2008 the Golden Foundation began its commitment to providing living and workspace opportunities for artists, with the development of an artist in residence space in a hundred year old barn, just a five minute walk from the Golden Artist Colors' facility. The new space will serve as a tremendous resource and will continue the conversations with artists, which has been the hallmark of Golden Artist Colors for over 30 years.
