May 26, 2010

The Everson Museum of Art announces that it will host a talk titled "Making an Artist's Life Work," by artist and author Jackie Battenfield on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Everson's Hosmer Auditorium. The talk is free and open to the public, and will be immediately followed by a book signing.

Battenfield's 90 minute talk will discuss the fundamental skills artists need to develop and sustain a professional life with an overview of Battenfield's widely acclaimed book, "The Artist's Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love." It will cover tips on how to plan, promote, fund, organize, and build community and includes time to address audience questions.

"We are delighted to offer this resource to area artists," said Steven Kern, Everson executive director. "Battenfield's experience and skills will benefit all who attend. We're grateful to have been able to partner with The Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts and Golden Artist Colors, Inc. to present this program."
