January 2023 - Acrylic Recall - Detail and Instructions

As company owners, we put our heart and soul into everything we make, and stand behind it completely. When our products fail to conform to our stringent quality standards at any time, we want to make it right.
Due to thickening in the container after long-term storage, we need to recall specific batches of Extra Heavy Gel Gloss, Fluid Acrylic Teal, and 14 Heavy Body colors.
If you have products that are NOT among the batch codes listed below, they are unaffected by this recall. If you have already used products included in this recall, there is no risk to your artwork. The issue is unused product becoming too thick.
Listed below are the specific products and batch codes being recalled, and details about how to receive replacement(s). The photos near the bottom of this page show the sort of product thickening we’ve seen.
Fluid Acrylic Teal
Recall includes all sizes with batch codes X0011941 or X0011942.
Extra Heavy Gel Gloss
Recall includes all sizes with batch codes X0013840 through X0019726.
Note: We no longer make Extra Heavy Gel. Please indicate your preferred replacement in the note of the warranty form.
Possible Replacement Options:
- Extra Heavy Molding Paste - good density for texture building, dries semi-opaque, satin sheen
- High Solid Gel Gloss - similar thickness to Extra Heavy Gel, excellent for texture building, will shrink slightly upon drying

Recall covers all sizes of the colors listed below, as well as colors in a small selection of sets. The affected batch codes/range are after each color:

Please do not dispose of the unusable product until you receive your replacement. We may need additional information or photos in order to process your replacement request. Once you receive replacement product, proper disposal guidelines would be to either remove the cap and allow the product to dry out or spread it onto cardboard and allow it to dry out. Once completely dry, the product can be disposed of in your everyday trash receptacle.
Unused portions of impacted products will be replaced at no charge. Please use the Product Warranty Form to submit your claim. Include photos of the products and batchcodes, a photo of the defect isn't needed in this case. Please mention 'Jan 2021 Acrylic Recall' in the Note.
